Hayden Panettiere Reveals Her Struggle with Addiction

Recently, Hayden Panettiere’s People Magazine cover story has opened up about her past, secret opioid and alcohol addiction. The Nashville star recounted how she spent years battling her opioid alcohol addiction and a bout with postpartum depression. Hayden says she spiraled out of control and her opioid and alcohol addiction almost cost her both her career and her life. 

She told People Magazine how when she was 15 years old, she was given “happy pills” to make her peppy during interviews saying “there’s that trap door” and how it opened a door for her opioid alcohol addiction. The Heroes actress also talked about getting out of control when she continued to drink heavily and occasionally took opioids. She told People Magazine that her only reason for not using drugs and alcohol all the time was that she couldn’t be messy while on set and working. Panettiere shared that she felt that drugs and alcohol became something she couldn’t live without.
