Addiction Treatment Services - Our Full Continuum of Care
Clients from Los Angeles, California, and surrounding areas enter our rehab needing different levels of care. We are able to accommodate each client with our various treatment programs. Whether you need 24-hour support or weekly support, we can provide it. Addiction treatment in California varies, and not all rehab centers offer a full continuum of care, but we do. Our treatment programs include residential rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, medical detox, dual diagnosis treatment, and more. Our clinicians are able to meet clients wherever they happen to be on their recovery journey.
In addition to our on-site addiction treatment plans, we can now offer telehealth counseling sessions to provide clients with virtual support for their recovery journey. Many of our clients transition from highly supportive treatment plans to weekly outpatient plans as they begin to transition back into their lives. Our programming options are varied and dynamic to ensure we target each aspect of addiction recovery.
During drug and alcohol treatment at Novo, clients can expect to encounter treatment modalities that include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, life and social skills, anger management, goal setting, creative healing, yoga, aftercare planning, health awareness, nutrition education, distress tolerance skills, and so much more. Our luxury facility also offers clients access to acupuncture, a swimming pool, lounging areas, and ultra-comfortable furnishings.
Whether you are just beginning your recovery process or want ongoing support for your continued recovery journey, you can find the experience and expertise you’re looking for at Novo Detox.
Drug Detox
Medical detox is frequently the first step in the drug addiction recovery process. Meth or heroin detox, for example, is the process by which the individual becomes ‘clean’ of the addictive substance and overcomes their physical dependence on it. Opioid addiction or other forms of drug addiction form a powerful hold on an individual, including physical and psychological dependencies. Medical detox targets physical dependence and although it doesn’t cure the addiction, it does provide that first step to addiction recovery.
A person who has already stopped using drugs and been through withdrawal may not require supervised detox at Novo Detox or their drug rehab. However, if a person is still physically dependent on drugs when they enroll in their residential treatment or outpatient treatment, they will find it difficult to focus on their addiction therapies. Withdrawal symptoms may start out mild but can become quite severe.
During clinically supervised detox, doctors provide clients with medications that can drastically reduce their withdrawal symptoms so they can progress through detox more comfortably and get the rest they need to promote healing. Usually, detox lasts about one week but some people may complete the process in a few days while others require longer than a week to complete the drug detoxification process.
The type of drug someone is addicted to often impacts the time frame for detox as does the length of time they’ve been addicted to it. Their chemistry can also impact how long their bodies take to overcome drug dependency. After completing drug detox, clients can progress to their next phase of inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, or other addiction treatment programs.
Drug Rehab
Drug addiction is a complex condition that involves physical, psychological, and behavioral aspects. While medical detox targets the physical side of addiction, drug rehab programs such as cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy target the psychological and behavioral aspects of substance use disorders. At Novo, our rehab programs include evidence-based therapies as well as treatments that take a holistic approach to addiction. We individualize treatment plans to ensure that each person gets their needed support.
Clients can enroll in inpatient or outpatient rehab programs at our drug rehab center depending on their support needs. During our enrollment process, we evaluate each person’s condition in order to recommend the ideal treatment programs for their needs. Some clients will need mental health treatment for a dual diagnosis and addiction treatment. Some clients feel too unstable to maintain their recovery without 24-hour support; these individuals typically find that residential treatment plans ideal. More stable clients may prefer outpatient substance abuse treatment instead.
Nove Detox offers clients the flexibility they need regarding levels of care. Many clients transition from more intensive programming to less intensive outpatient treatments. Addiction recovery is a process. Clients gradually become more skilled at managing their addiction. During addiction therapy, they learn how to manage their triggers to use. Having developed the skills needed to change their lifestyle and thoughts, regulate their emotions, and prevent relapse, they will be ready to transition back to their everyday lives.
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox is quite similar to drug detox; however, the withdrawal symptoms that clients experience may differ. For instance, a person enduring heroin detox will likely experience flu-like symptoms. Someone going through alcohol detox may experience symptoms such as tremors, insomnia, and depression. During the medical detox process at Novo, the individual is slowly weaned from alcohol until they are no longer dependent on it. This process can take anywhere from three days to a couple of weeks.
It’s extremely important for clients to detox in a medical setting to complete the process safely. A person who stops drinking abruptly is going to experience withdrawal symptoms. If they detox at home or in a non-medical setting, their health may be at risk as powerful withdrawal symptoms can actually trigger medical emergencies like seizures, suicidal thoughts, dehydration, falls, and heart irregularities. Delirium tremens, a condition that can occur with alcohol withdrawal, features very serious symptoms, including fever, hallucinations, and other symptoms requiring medical care.
The safest way to detox is at an alcohol rehab facility that offers detox programs. Novo Detox features a team of experienced clinicians who monitor each client as they progress through detoxification. They provide medications to reduce withdrawal symptom severity and prevent them from triggering those health emergencies mentioned earlier. After the detox process is complete, the client can continue their addiction treatment program with therapies designed to target the psychological aspects of their condition. Again, detox only targets the physical dependence associated with alcohol and drug addiction.
Alcohol Rehab
During alcohol addiction treatment at our treatment center in California, our certified addiction therapists work closely with clients during individual therapy and group counseling sessions. We help clients identify what led them to abuse alcohol. We help them examine their thoughts about alcohol use and how it has affected their lives. Alcohol abuse varies. Some people drink to cope with a high-stress job. Others drink to socialize or to soothe negative emotions like anger or loneliness. Identifying the triggers that compel a person to drink is the first step to managing them successfully.
Many rehabs in Southern California offer alcohol abuse treatment, but Novo Detox individualizes treatment because each person needs support that’s tailored to their unique circumstances. As a top rehab, we know that there are no cookie-cutter solutions for recovery success. By customizing care, we can help each person develop strategies that will help them manage their condition independently after completing their treatment programs.
When clients enroll for alcohol treatment at our rehab facility, they can choose inpatient treatment or an outpatient treatment plan like partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment plans. Often, clients will move from residential rehab treatment to an outpatient program as they progress through their recovery process. Fortunately, at Novo Detox, we offer our clients a full continuum of care. We also offer sober living facilities and alumni programs to ensure that clients get ongoing support. Studies have shown that people who spend longer in substance abuse treatment programs are less likely to suffer a relapse.
Inpatient Addiction Treatment
Inpatient rehab offers a robust level of support for clients who are struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. Many people choose to begin their recovery process at a recovery center that offers inpatient rehab programming. Often, medical detox is part of inpatient treatment programs for clients who need it. Inpatient rehab features 24-hour support delivered by experienced medical clinicians.
When most people enter a rehab facility for the first time, they’re very unstable; that is, they’re extremely vulnerable to using drugs or alcohol again. They may still be in the throes of withdrawal. They may experience powerful cravings to use even after they complete detox. For many of these clients, returning home before they’re able to manage those cravings and other triggers to use would lead to immediate relapse. By remaining in rehab day and night, clients can avoid using temptations.
Another advantage of inpatient treatment programs is that they allow clients to completely immerse themselves in their drug and alcohol therapy. Hundreds of distractions outside of rehab can impact a person’s focus. Clients can avoid distractions by remaining in rehab for a month or longer in order to focus on their treatment.
Inpatient treatment isn’t the only option available today for people who want to end their dependence on drugs or alcohol, but it does offer more support than other treatment options. Clients who feel stable enough to return home after a day’s substance abuse treatment programming may find that outpatient rehab is a better fit for their needs.
Residential Drug Rehab
During residential drug rehab, clients will find that their days are highly structured. Downtime is included daily to ensure clients get time to rest or reflect on their addiction and mental health treatment. Throughout the day, clients can expect to attend individual treatment and group therapy sessions. Sessions will vary depending on the treatment method associated with the therapy.
At Novo Detox, we offer a wide range of evidence-based drug treatment approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, relapse prevention, denial management, creative healing, introduction to twelve steps programming, family programs, dual diagnosis treatment (for clients suffering from a substance abuse disorder and a mental health condition like depression or post-traumatic stress disorder), anger management, cognitive restructuring, and more.
Each of our therapies targets a different aspect of drug addiction to help clients fully understand and manage their condition. With residential treatment, clients can avoid the triggers of the outside world to more fully focus on their early recovery process. Residential treatment provides day and night support for clients as their minds and bodies begin to heal. Clients can expect to learn what triggers them to abuse drugs and how to best manage those triggers going forward to avoid relapsing.
Upon completing their inpatient addiction treatment program, many clients choose to transition to intensive outpatient treatment to continue their recovery journey with another month or two of outpatient support. Some clients prefer to reside in sober living facilities rather than return home before they’re ready to. Others prefer to attend aftercare to maintain their recovery progress.
Residential Alcohol Rehab
As anyone who lives in Los Angeles, California, or surrounding areas knows, alcohol is available seemingly right and left. It’s sold in supermarkets and at most restaurants. In short, it can be hard to avoid it. Seeing it so readily available can be a powerful temptation for someone who is trying to stop drinking. That’s why many people begin their recovery journey from alcohol addiction in a residential treatment program.
Novo Detox offers evidence-based alcohol treatment in both inpatient and outpatient formats. However, many people choose inpatient treatment when beginning their recovery journey because it offers the most robust level of support. Clients can avoid coming into contact with alcohol before they’re ready to manage their temptations and triggers to use it. The first month of recovery is often a very unstable time as clients end their physical dependence on alcohol and work to learn how to manage their psychological compulsions to drink.
Alcohol abuse treatment at Novo Detox is highly structured and varied. Clients will attend individual treatment as well as group counseling sessions. We offer many types of therapies, including medically sanctioned programs like dialectical behavior therapy and holistic approaches to recovery like creative healing, yoga, tai chi, and acupuncture. Clients can also expect to enjoy some downtime so they can relax and take advantage of our luxury rehab amenities designed to enhance the recovery process.
Upon completing their residential alcohol addiction treatment program, many clients continue to attend treatment on an outpatient basis as they transition back into their lives. Before their alcohol abuse treatment program ends, clients will spend time discussing aftercare planning or further treatment to ensure they have the support they need to rebuild their post-addiction lives.
Prescription Drug Rehab
Novo Detox offers addiction treatment for people who abuse prescription medications like opioids or sleeping pills. These drugs can be just as dangerous and deadly as street drugs. A prescription opioid addiction, for instance, is one of the leading causes of an overdose in the U.S. Our prescription drug inpatient and outpatient programs attract clients from all over the region, including Los Angeles; Malibu, California; Rancho Mirage, CA; and Orange County. As a top California rehab, we offer a multi-type approach to addiction recovery based on medically sanctioned therapies and holistic and alternative treatments.
Prescription drug addiction requires ongoing management just as any other form of addiction. While some clients became addicted to prescription medications by using them recreationally, others have been prescribed these drugs for a medical condition. So, the factors leading to prescription drug addiction can vary greatly among clients. That’s why Novo is committed to individualizing treatment to ensure that each client’s needs are carefully addressed.
Some clients with a prescription drug addiction also have a cooccurring disorder like depression or anxiety. Our clinicians provide dual diagnosis treatment to ensure that both conditions are successfully managed. Not all California rehab centers can provide dual diagnosis and mental health treatment, but Novo does. We believe that it’s important to treat cooccurring disorders, especially since as many as one third of all people with substance use disorders also have a mental health condition.
Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Some clients begin their addiction recovery journey with outpatient treatment; others transition from residential treatment to outpatient treatment models like partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs. Which program is right for you though? At Novo Detox, we offer same-day admissions, but in doing so, we also carefully evaluate each client so that we can recommend the ideal treatment plan for their needs. Clients who are stable enough to return home after a day’s therapy may opt for an outpatient program instead of residential treatment.
Outpatient drug and alcohol rehab offers a high degree of support depending on which type of program clients enroll in. Partial hospitalization programs require clients to meet more frequently for therapy than other outpatient programs. Outpatient treatment is more flexible than inpatient therapy, which can be ideal for clients with family responsibilities or who wish to continue working or attending school while getting the support they need to achieve lasting recovery.
Alcohol and drug rehab outpatient programs also rely on evidence-based and holistic approaches to recovery. Clients can expect to meet individually with therapists and in group settings for various treatment modalities. Treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, acupuncture, yoga, saltwater therapy, life skills, goal planning, and others combine to provide clients with a strong recovery foundation.
IOP Rehab
Intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment programs are ideal for clients who wish to continue working or attending school. This type of outpatient program requires clients to meet less frequently each week for therapy than partial hospitalization (PHP) programs or inpatient programs. This type of program is a good fit for clients who are stable and committed to their recovery journey but still need support as they rebuild their lives. Many clients prefer the IOP format because they can access clinical support while still enjoying support from their families. Many people in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction have children or other family obligations that make residential treatment too difficult to obtain. IOP allows getting help while continuing to care for your family’s needs.
Reintegrating back into everyday life without drugs or alcohol can be challenging, which is why many IOP programs strongly focus on that reintegration process. Our therapists understand the triggers that are bound to be at play, so they help clients develop strategies for managing them successfully and keeping relapse at bay. IOP alcohol and drug abuse treatment allows clients to have the flexibility they need to meet their obligations while addressing their treatment needs.
PHP Rehab
Partial hospitalization (PHP) treatment programs for alcohol and drug addiction offer the most robust level of outpatient rehab support. Only residential clients can expect more support at our alcohol and drug rehab center. Clients will meet daily at our rehab but return home or to their sober living community after their day’s therapy sessions. PHP rehab is ideal for clients who have a supportive home or are stable enough to avoid using drugs and alcohol while away from rehab.
At Novo, clients who enroll in PHP treatment plans will participate in individual therapy and group counseling sessions led by experienced addiction therapists or counselors. Our staff also includes doctors who provide medication-assisted and mental health treatment for clients who need it as part of their treatment plans. We offer a wide range of addiction treatments at our treatment facility. Each offering supports some aspect of addiction recovery.
Is partial hospitalization right for you? The best way to answer that question is to visit our Los Angeles, CA, treatment facility to discuss your condition. Our onboarding process includes a careful health evaluation. We can help you choose the right type of program for your needs. Our staff can answer all your questions and discuss the different therapies and amenities at our luxury rehab.
Sober Living & Aftercare
Going from a treatment facility back to one’s everyday life can be an abrupt change. Sometimes, the change is too abrupt, leaving recovering individuals vulnerable to relapse. Addiction recovery is a long-term process that extends far beyond formal substance abuse treatment programs. Aftercare and sober living can provide a longer transition period before formal addiction treatment and independent living. In fact, some people choose to continue with aftercare programming indefinitely as part of their sobriety maintenance routine.
A sober living facility offers accommodations to individuals recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. It provides a safe environment where people can practice the strategies they learned at addiction treatment centers for managing their addiction. Typically, people might spend six months, a year, or even longer living in a sober living community. Many enjoy its supportive environment and onsite aftercare programs that focus on everything from relapse prevention to life skills.
Recovering individuals can attend aftercare programming for its ongoing support. Novo Detox offers aftercare planning to help clients find the ideal aftercare plans that suit their needs and preferences. Some people prefer aftercare programs based on twelve steps like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. Others may want to attend restorative yoga sessions or alumni support groups.
Aftercare offers clients helpful support–not as intensive as what they receive in inpatient rehab, but still helpful. Clients might attend aftercare once a week or a few times each month as a form of ongoing relapse prevention. When life gets difficult, having a support network in place can be the key to maintaining one’s recovery journey.
Alumni Support
Not all luxury rehabs in California offer alumni support, but Novo facilitates aftercare planning, including alumni support groups. Why is alumni support helpful? Alcohol and drug addictions are chronic conditions. Someone with a substance abuse disorder isn’t cured after completing rehab programming. Addiction treatment programs can help people manage their addiction, but these conditions can only be managed with abstinence. That means that recovering individuals must refrain from using drugs or alcohol for the rest of their lives.
Sometimes life gets challenging. Even after completing inpatient rehab or outpatient programs, people might feel vulnerable to relapse at different times in their life. Alumni groups can provide the long-term support that clients can tap into should they need to. During alumni support group sessions, participants can focus on issues related to long-term recovery and addiction management. They can share their post-rehab experiences and coping strategies or simply connect with others who share similar recovery journeys.
Connecting with others who prioritize living a drug and alcohol-free life is important for many people recovering from a drug or alcohol addiction. It’s not uncommon for people in recovery to dismiss many people from their lives who are not supportive of their recovery goals. For instance, many Novo clients have had to remove themselves from friends groups where partying continues to be a top priority. Even when those connections are toxic, leaving behind friends can leave a void in a person’s life. Alumni addiction support can help fill that void as the individual forms new and healthy relationships that enhance their long-term recovery process.
